| The original courtroom of Bailieborough Courthouse was the focus of the reinterpretation and re-use of the courtroom into a vibrant cultural space. High ceilings, large windows and existing timber features within the courtroom document the buildings history. It was fundamental to enhance the natural light be amending the windows and allowing the reflection of light and colour into the primary gathering space. The historic materials of the building were respected by the application of breathable construction methodologies and acoustic comfort achieved by the use of timber panelling. Bailieborough Courthouse is now a welcoming venue used in a variety of manners by the local community and is seen as a transformative space which is changing Bailieborough’s cultural dynamic | |
